Claire Elise Boucher (bu:'SeI/booSHAY) was born on 17 March 1988. The name she is given is Grimes. [2][3] Her early work has been described as extending beyond "lo-fi R&B" to futuristic dance-pop. She has also incorporated influence from electronic music, hip hop, as well as rock. A lot of her songs have science fiction-related themes and feminist themes. Five studio albums were released by her. Grimes was raised in Vancouver, and then moved to Montreal around 2000. Grimes started releasing her music in solo fashion in the early 2000s. The albums released were by Arbutus Records in 2010, Geidi Primes as well as Halfaxa in 2010. In 2012, Visions is her 3rd studio release. Grimes signed with 4AD. Visions is comprised of the singles "Genesis," and "Oblivion", which was selected for nominations to the Juno Award of the Canadian Music Industry for Electronic Album of the Years. [5] Following this, her fourth studio album, Art Angels, was released in 2015 and received critical praise as several publications called it the top album of 2015. Miss Anthropocene was her fifth studio album. Grimes is also a judge for Alter Ego, a music contest. Grimes was also a participant that of Cyberpunk 2077 2020 role-playing game.
