She is most famous for her role as Ashley Banks on the sitcom The Fresh Prince of Bel Air. She began singing at the age of four. Her mother urged her to bring her to audition for Sesame Street. When she was six-year-old, she began an acting career by appearing regularly on the PBS children's educational program Sesame Street. She went on to perform in many productions in her hometown of New York, including the Broadway show Fences, which featured James Earl Jones and, later, Billy Dee Willis--as well as the off-Broadway musical Orfeo del Campo. Seven years ago, she was the winner of Star Search. She received a rating of four stars when she performed for another time.
